When I first met David Jacobson, he came to me through a referral. (Thanks, Tamsen ) He had two amazing sites on Kajabi. One he was using to coach other financial coaches to have successful businesses, called Coach-Connections. The other is a perk for his CC members to be a client-facing network of financial coaches that clients can choose from to help with their unique situations. This is called Accountable.
This is niche coaching at its best! Everyone can offer financial coaching, but only the coaches with specific life experiences can identify with the clients of the same vein. It's a beautiful mixture of holding each other accountable.
Dave's had his coaching membership for over 10 years, but it wasn't until he started using Kajabi that he was able to see his ultimate visions come to life.
Hi, my name is Dave Jacobson. Megan...
According to Facebook, our online friendship began in February of 2016. I can't exactly remember what prompted our connection, but Bec Robbie, a native Australian, was living in Thailand at the time running an e-commerce business with her husband, and I was getting ready to launch my digital marketing academy for service-based entrepreneurs. I was very curious about her life.
We were in different areas of online business, so working together wasn't really in the cards at the time, but I was fascinated that she was living abroad completely independent of having a regular job where you go to an office every day.
I was still working as an actuary (fancy word for insurance statistician), but I was banking on my May 2016 launch to be the catalyst for leaving my 25 year career (and that's exactly what happened).
Fast forward to 2019. Bec has since divulged of her e-commerce venture and is now teaching online business owners to...
One thing that the Reality TV generation has influenced is how people communicate with each other. Abbreviated slang, such as LOL, ROFL, or TBH began with teenagers sending text messages to each other as their main form of communication. Long gone are the days of push button phones with long, spirally cords stretched behind closed doors for private phone conversations.
And with the birth of emoji keyboards, many baby boomers are left in the dark trying to figure out which smiley face or hand gesture is appropriate for the conversation at hand.
Even the legal world is having to figure out what emojis mean for interpretation of the law.
According to Wikipedia, "emojis are ideograms and smileys...including facial expressions, common objects, places and types of...

For those of you who don’t know me, I used to be a Zumba instructor, a very zealous one at that! Oh I know what you might be thinking, what in the world does Zumba have to do with starting a business? But now that I’ve...
According to her official bio, "Lanette Pottle is an award-winning life & business strategist who helps women solopreneurs increase their impact and grow their bottom line without losing their minds."
And I wholeheartedly agree with that description of Lanette and how she does life and business.
Funny thing? My family is vacationing in Maine this week, where Lanette lives, and we happen to be meeting for the first time in person and having brunch together on the same day that this blog post gets published and emailed to my subscribers. Watch for a photo that I'll surely post on Instagram.
So without further ado, let's explore these 7 truths.

Gurus out there are always talking about spending massive amounts of money to cold traffic to get people into webinars or on your list to download some piddly one page resource that creates a win.
Yes, I’ve touted the same strategies before, but I’ve changed my mind, as a woman has the right to do, and I’m calling bullshit on the same ole techniques and strategies of the 20-teens.
I've seen the evidence and know this overnight success is a unicorn.
It’s time to grow up and act like real businesses who don’t push get-rich-quick digital schemes, webinars that bring in loads of traffic and buyers (they’re dying, by the way), and slick upsell/downsell funnels with timers running out to get the best deal before it’s gone.
No. You don’t need all that.
It’s time to get back to basics and act like real businesses with real...
As spring is coming to an end, those of us who have been busy working hard in our businesses and shuffling kids around to get through the final days of school may not have had the time to do the proverbial spring cleaning that we all need to do.
In 2017, I wrote a blog post about spring cleaning your closets and your personal finances. The closet situation was more about my daughters, so when I dumped their entire closets out on the floor in their room to sort through and put back on the most needed items, we had quite the mess to muddle through.
Now that's a lot of clothes and shoes!
I traveled farther than anyone else to attend Elevate Live, a live event put on by women for women (there was one man) in the coaching space. Nearly everyone was British, so this Tennessee girl's accent stuck out like a sore thumb.
Gemma Went, the woman behind this event, is a leading UK business and mindset coach. This was her first attempt, and she knocked it out of the park.
My purpose in going to Sutton Coldfield, a tiny town outside Birmingham, England, was to meet with like-minded women in business who I could learn from and hopefully they could learn from me as well. It didn't hurt that the New Hall Hotel & Spa was an amazing setting for such an event.
With about 60 women in attendance, I was able to meet over a dozen of them and have deeper discussions with 4 or 5 of them. Sure, I could have tried to target these ladies in groups or online somehow with my content, but there's nothing like meeting in person...
